Outdoor Adventures

Bordered by the cool waters of the Salish Sea, the crisp call of the Cascade Mountains and your own curiosity.

Access to the great outdoors is only minutes from downtown Seattle. Due to our temperate climate, Snohomish County is the perfect destination for family adventures and outdoor fun throughout the year.

Wiggle your toes in the sandy beaches and warm shallow waters of Jetty Island, off the coast of Everett, while you watch dozens of kite boarders race across the water. Watch bald eagles feast on spawned salmon as you gently float down a river. Try your luck at fishing—salmon anglers and trout seekers have a heyday here. Discover some of the finest public golf courses in the Salish Sea and explore our family-friendly walking and hiking trails, many of which are also great for biking.

Visit one of our many parks and enjoy an afternoon of picnicking, people watching, or wildlife watching. Like more adventure? Grab your paddle and head for one of four major river systems that offer a full range of kayaking and rafting experiences. Like the adrenaline rush? Rock climbing, snow skiing, skydiving and scuba diving are all options. Find your adventure here.
