When to Go

The best time to visit Snohomish County is all the time.

Like the residents who call it home, the weather of coastal Washington State is famously mild and mostly chill.

Temperatures rarely dip below freezing in winter here and hover around 74 degrees in coastal areas during summer. The inland Salish Sea acts as our weather regulator, keeping us from meteorological extremes and offering a refreshing breeze when temperatures do spike into the 80s and 90s.

Anytime you visit should be welcoming, climate-wise. But of course, this is the Pacific Northwest, so pack a light rain layer and an umbrella, just in case.

Summer is when most of our festivals and cultural events happen, so a trip here during the warmer months will yield the bounty of farmers markets, music shows, parades, and street fairs.

The shoulder season and winter months are underrated, so don’t sleep on those less-than-popular months. September through March brings plenty of cozy opportunities to enjoy, from autumn cabin glamping in the forest to indoor art museums like The Schack, the Cascadia Art Museum, and the Hibulb Cultural Center.

Whenever you’re planning to visit, be sure to check out our events page and our blog to see which attractions will be happening during your stay.
