La Dentro da Mata
Overview
Lá Dentro da Mata is a Brazilian theatrical production based on the book by Brazilian author Pablo Maurutto. The stage adaptation and writing are by Rose Aniceto, who also directs the production and is one of the producers. I, Luciana McCadden, am a co-founder and producer of Manacá Troupe Brazilian Arts and also perform in the production as Poti.
The production takes audiences into the Amazon rainforest through storytelling, music, characters, and Brazilian cultural elements. It explores the rainforest ecosystem, animals, nature, environmental preservation, and Brazilian culture. The production is approximately 98% in Portuguese, with some English, and is created for audiences of all ages—not only children. This is the fourth production of Lá Dentro da Mata presented by our team. Previous productions have been presented at Kirkland Performance Center, Youth Theatre Bellevue, and Seattle Center.
