Cascades, Coastlines, and Coffee. A Summertime Itinerary.
Ready to get chill? How about cooling off where the weather is naturally moderated by water and mountains?
Escape to our corner of the Pacific Northwest. Fly into Paine Field and skip the lines that plague major airports.
Hit up a minor league baseball game with the Everett AquaSox. Visit one of our many farmers markets. Go to Music at the Marina.
Ok, now time to chill hard.
Coastal cool - a dip in the Salish Sea
The Everett Marina is the second-largest marina on the West Coast. And, yes, it’s stocked with brand new breweries, a froyo spot, cafes, and elevated seafood restaurants.
Take a ferry from the Everett Waterfront to sandy Jetty Island. The water is tepid – cool enough to escape the heat, warm enough to take a dip. Whale watching is also in season. Book a cetacean sighting courtesy of Puget Sound Express in Edmonds.
There’s every reason to do nothing. Chill at Mukilteo Beach Park near the lighthouse, watching the ferries come and go to the islands. That’s a day’s work.
Cascades cool – escape summer in the city
It’s the PNW. You know us. You know it’s hiking all day every day. You can trek literally hundreds of trails in our county. Ice cold alpine lake or the cool, refreshing mist of a waterfall? Both, please. Download our virtual hiking guide for all of the evergreen places you need to visit.
Coffee cool – iced coffee to go... on bikes, please
It’s time to surf the third wave of coffee in Snohomish County.
Did you know that Everett is ranked among the top ten cities in the nation for most cafes per capita? Our little big city punches (er... pulls shots?) above its weight with one coffee shop for every 2,752 people. That puts us in good company with Berkeley, San Francisco, and Portland.
Check out the coffee scene in our oh-so-bikeable city. Everett is in the 74th percentile nationwide for bikeability, with bike infrastructure connecting the downtown to the waterfront for easy summertime cruising access.
You also can’t go wrong with a visit to Downtown Snohomish, Washington which is blowing up in the local coffee scene. Order a beverage and stroll down First Street in this riverside town for a summer that feels timeless.
Better make that a cold brew with extra ice.
Dip, sip, stroll, bike, and above all chill in Snohomish County this summer.
