Getting Here
Hop off of Interstate 5 and head east on Highway 530 and you’ll soon see why this officially designated Scenic Byway is also called the Mountain Loop. Views of Three Fingers Mountain and the northern slopes of Pilchuck rise above corn fields, pumpkin patches and dairy farms. This is a good visual introduction to the character of Arlington. Drivers can also arrive by Highway 9 or by cycling, rollerblading, walking, or running into the heart of town via the Centennial Trail.
Where to Stay
Stay in style at the Angel of the Winds Casino Resort where high class and high thread count bedsheets create a luxurious overnight experience. Or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, pop up a tent at campgrounds along the Whitehorse Trail, including Whitehorse Park, Squire Creek Campground, or Boulder River.
Where to Eat & Drink
There’s no other place like Nutty’s Junkyard Grill, where the neon signage and nostalgic automotive decor perfectly complement the all-American burgers-and-fries fare. Grab a shake and bask in the retro atmosphere.
The Stilly Diner is arguably the best place for breakfast or brunch, and you’d be sorry to miss out on a delicious cup of third wave espresso at Moe’s.
While you could tip a glass at a modern drinking establishment like Lighthouse or In the Shadow, we put our money on Whitehorse Saloon. The decor at Whitehorse is effortlessly minimalistic and features blood red floors and billiard tables, as well as mountainous murals, ceramic equestrian statuary, and cottage core white curtains. It’s a place out of time and cool without trying to be cool. If the hipsters discovered this place, it would absolutely be game over for this little establishment that flies under the radar.
