Welcome to Tulalip: Where Heritage Meets Hospitality
To step into Tulalip (pronounced Tuh’-lay-lup) is to enter a place where history and modern luxury live side-by-side. Located just north of Everett, WA, the 22,000-acre Tulalip Indian Reservation is more than just a destination; it’s the sovereign homeland of the Tulalip Tribes.
A Legacy Since Time Immemorial
The Tulalip Tribes are the successors to the Snohomish, Snoqualmie, Skykomish, and other allied bands who signed the 1855 Treaty of Point Elliott. When the Tribes formally organized in 1934, they chose the name Tulalip from the Salish word describing the beautiful, sheltered bay that remains the heart of the Reservation.
As a sovereign entity, the Tulalip Tribes maintain the inherent right to self-govern and raise revenue to support its growing community of over 5,000 members. When you visit the casinos, shopping, and museum, you are directly supporting the education, social services, and cultural preservation of the Tulalip people.
