Getting Here
As the southernmost coastal city of Snohomish County, Edmonds has the benefit of being in close proximity to many of the area’s most popular locations. It’s less than 20 miles to both Seattle and Everett and only a 30-minute ferry ride to Kingston on Whidbey Island. By car, I-5 is only 10 minutes away, as is the Lynnwood link light rail station. Edmonds is also one of the many scenic stops along Amtrak’s 460-mile cascade route that runs between Vancouver, B.C. and Eugene, OR.
Where to Stay
Whether you plan to set sail for a day of whale watching and island hopping on Puget Sound or enjoy an afternoon of shopping followed by a taste of the freshest seafood in the region, you’ll want to bookend your adventure with a stay in Edmonds. If you’re looking for a reputable hotel with world-class service right in the heart of Edmonds, look no further than Best Western Plus Edmonds Harbor Inn. This hotel is walkable to all the best amenities and activities the city has to offer. There are also several local Airbnbs, including the popular Main Street Retreat, which features 5 bedrooms, a game room, a nearby trail and pond, and proximity to downtown Edmonds.
Where to Eat & Drink
The freshest seafood comes directly from the waters of the Salish Sea, and if hip waders and fly casting aren’t your thing, it’s okay to have someone else catch, gut, and flay the fish for you. MARKET Edmonds is a walk-up counter selling fresh crab, lobster, fish, shrimp, and other seafood from straight from Salish Sea. Salt & Iron specializes in seafood (salt), steak (iron), and Pacific Northwest cuisine. Sit down in SanKai’s cozy wooden interior or heated patio to enjoy fresh sushi, sashimi, and nigiri.
