Is it actually free? How?
Great question. Yes, it's 100% free, including parking. This event is brought to you by the Snohomish County 1% for the Arts Fund. This fund is stewarded by the county's Arts Commission. Public money for the arts is going to local artists and artisans as part of this event. Be sure to thank the musicians and food truck chefs who contribute their work to the local creative economy!
What's the creative economy?
The "creative economy" refers to paid jobs for artists of all kinds -- graphic designers, musicians, sculptors, web developers, and more. The Creative Economy in Washington State generates $43.2B a year and makes up a whopping 8.7% of the state's GDP. Why Kayak Point?
The north part of Snohomish County has been historically underserved when it comes to public art. We wanted to produce a festival that wasn't urban, but rather drew folks to a more rural area. Plus, have you seen Kayak Point? It's so beautiful!

What was that about parking?
Parking is free but limited to 400 spaces. It's highly recommended that you carpool if you plan to bring friends and family.
