The McClinchy Camano Classic Returns
Spring means hopping on your bike seat and pedaling around the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
This is an ideal mode by which to explore the scenic waterfront, take in the wooded wonderland of the Mountain Loop Highway, or hit up local farmers markets.
If you’d like to kick it into another gear, though, check out the McClinchy Camano Classic. Based out of the town of Stanwood, this race series offers distances of 35, 50, 65, and 100 miles. It’s going to be a hilly ride for participants – the “century” route goes over Camano’s rolling hills for a total of 4,721 feet of elevation gain! (For reference, the peak of Mount Pilchuck sits at 5,344 feet)
Quads, calves, and glutes beware!
Thankfully, all riders are supported by mobile bike repair crews, multiple rest stops, and meal checkpoints where meat or veggie tacos courtesy of SAAL Brewing will help fuel the remaining miles of the journey.

History of the tour, nearby attractions
This locals’-favorite bike ride celebrates its 44th year! Founded in Monroe in 1982, the race has been a staple of the fair-weather biking season in Snohomish County.
Visitors coming in from out of town can expect to find some pretty cush lodging options near Stanwood. Stay in style at the Delta Hotel or Hotel Indigo on the Everett Waterfront. The race is also close to the Centennial Trail (for a day-before-the-race warmup), as well as the Seattle Premium Outlets – good for scoring discount deals on athletic gear.
